Whether exquisite or quotidian, they tell expansive stories about the lives of people from around the world, and throughout history. The selections range from an ancient Roman flute to one of the first x-Rays created in Maine, from jade belt buckles from ancient China to James Bowdoin\u2019s set of dueling pistols and Winslow Homer\u2019s watercolor box. Bowdoin faculty, students, curators, and librarians present rarely seen material objects that enable us to interpret the world, communicate with each other, and learn about ourselves.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"The Object Show: Discoveries in Bowdoin Collections\" href=\"http:\/\/www.bowdoin.edu\/art-museum\/exhibitions\/2013\/world-of-objects.shtml\" target=\"_blank\"><em>The Object Show: Discoveries in Bowdoin Collections<\/em><\/a> is on view at the <a title=\"The Bowdoin College Museum of Art\" href=\"http:\/\/www.bowdoin.edu\/art-museum\/\" target=\"_blank\">Bowdoin College Museum of Art<\/a> from November 7, 2013, to June 1, 2014.
