{"id":5625,"date":"2016-05-14T14:18:29","date_gmt":"2016-05-14T14:18:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/researchbdev.wpengine.com\/environmental-studies-newsletter\/?p=5625"},"modified":"2016-05-13T15:30:28","modified_gmt":"2016-05-13T15:30:28","slug":"summer-opportunity-urban-refuge-internship-app-due-may-16","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/research.bowdoin.edu\/environmental-studies-newsletter\/internship\/summer-opportunity-urban-refuge-internship-app-due-may-16\/","title":{"rendered":"Summer Opportunity: Urban Refuge Internship (App due May 16)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Urban Refuge Internship<br \/>\n<\/strong>Duration<strong>:<\/strong>\u00a0 6 months from starting date \u2013 approximately Mid-June to mid-December 2016<br \/>\nSalary<strong>:<\/strong>\u00a0 $11.50 per hour<br \/>\nLocation<strong>:<\/strong>\u00a0 Patuxent Research Refuge, Laurel MD<br \/>\nHousing<strong>:<\/strong> \u00a0Housing available at Patuxent Research Refuge<\/p>\n<p><strong>Internship Description:<\/strong>\u00a0 The intern will work with FWS partners in Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) to formulate and carry out schoolyard wildlife habitat design, establishment, and maintenance in Northern Virginia.\u00a0 The intern will utilize and supervise local volunteers as much as possible, including students completing community service, 4H members and Boy Scouts.\u00a0 Sustainable landscaping practices will be applied to these sites and the surrounding school property.
