Become a Member of the <\/span><strong><span style=\"font-family: Garamond-Bold\">11<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond-Bold\"><span style=\"font-family: Garamond-Bold;font-size: xx-small\">th <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond-Bold\">year <\/span><\/strong><span style=\"font-family: Garamond\">of the SNAP Program!<\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"LEFT\">We are seeking enthusiastic, conservation-minded people to commit to a year of service to protect Sierra natural resources and sustainable communities. During the year, SNAP members will gain skills and technical training, mentor with outstanding environmental leaders and receive an education award at the successful completion of service.<\/p>\n<p align=\"LEFT\"><strong><span style=\"font-family: Garamond-Bold\">Deadline for applying is July 27<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond-Bold\"><span style=\"font-family: Garamond-Bold;font-size: xx-small\">th<\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond-Bold\">, 2016. Interviews will begin in early-August.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p align=\"LEFT\"><em>Background:<\/em><\/p>\n<p align=\"LEFT\">Since 2007, more than 175 SNAP Members have served at 34 Sierra conservation organizations and agencies to:<\/p>\n<p align=\"LEFT\"><span style=\"font-family: Symbol\">\u2022 <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond\">Restore more than 14,000 acres of habitat,<\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"LEFT\"><span style=\"font-family: Symbol\">\u2022 <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond\">Monitor more than 1,200 ecological sites,<\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"LEFT\"><span style=\"font-family: Symbol\">\u2022 <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond\">Educate more than 155,000 people<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Symbol\">\u2022 <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond\">Recruit more than 30,000 community volunteers, and<\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"LEFT\"><span style=\"font-family: Symbol\">\u2022 <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond\">Contribute more than 450,000 service hours!<\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"LEFT\"><em>Responsibilities &amp; Projects:<\/em><\/p>\n<p align=\"LEFT\">Members will serve full-time, from mid-October 2016 \u2013 mid-September 2017. Projects &amp; responsibilities will vary depending on service positions but, will be based on watershed restoration and assessment, watershed education and outreach, and volunteer recruitment and management. For more detailed service <span style=\"font-family: Garamond\">descriptions, please visit <a href=\"http:\/\/sierranevadaalliance.com\/programs\/sierra-nevada-americorpspartnership\/join\/\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff\">http:\/\/sierranevadaalliance.com\/programs\/sierra-nevada-americorpspartnership\/<\/span><\/a><\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/sierranevadaalliance.com\/programs\/sierra-nevada-americorpspartnership\/join\/\">join\/<\/a><\/p>\n<p align=\"LEFT\"><em>Applicant Requirements:<\/em><\/p>\n<p align=\"LEFT\"><span style=\"font-family: Symbol\">\u2022 <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond\">Must be a U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, or Lawful Permanent Resident Alien of the U.S.<\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"LEFT\"><span style=\"font-family: Symbol\">\u2022 <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond\">Must have a minimum of a High School Diploma or GED (higher education degrees are recommended<\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"LEFT\"><span style=\"font-family: Symbol\">\u2022 <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond\">Must be a minimum of 18 years or older.<\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"LEFT\"><span style=\"font-family: Symbol\">\u2022 <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond\">Must not have a criminal history that precludes the applicant&#8217;s ability to serve as an AmeriCorps\u00a0Member<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p align=\"LEFT\"><span style=\"font-family: Symbol\">\u2022 <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond\">Must not have been released for cause from a previous AmeriCorps term of service.<\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"LEFT\"><em>Compensation and Benefits:<\/em><\/p>\n<p align=\"LEFT\"><span style=\"font-family: Symbol\">\u2022 <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond\">Monthly stipend of $1,254 per month<\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"LEFT\"><span style=\"font-family: Symbol\">\u2022 <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond\">Standard health insurance<\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"LEFT\"><span style=\"font-family: Symbol\">\u2022 <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond\">Up to 340 hours of technical, ecological and skills-development training throughout the year.<\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"LEFT\"><span style=\"font-family: Symbol\">\u2022 <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond\">AmeriCorps Education Award of $5,775 will be granted upon completion of the program for use on existing qualified student loans or future higher education expenses<\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"LEFT\"><em>How to Apply:<\/em><\/p>\n<p align=\"LEFT\"><span style=\"font-family: Garamond\">1.
