On the platform of an annual business competition Cleantech Open provides extensive mentorship, training, and a plethora of opportunities for high-value networking and visibility to the most promising cleantech startups in the country.<br \/>\nNECEC is the U.S. Northeast\u2019s leading clean energy regional organization, and is the regional affiliate of the global Cleantech Open organization, running the Cleantech Open Northeast business accelerator and competition, and building a world-class clean energy hub across the region.<\/p>\n<p>NECEC is seeking a Communications &amp; Community Outreach Manager for its Cleantech Open Northeast team. The Communications and Commun ity Outreach Manager manages day-to-day operations of the accelerator program. Key responsibilities include communications (with mentors, cleantech entrepreneurs, and volunteers) and event organization. The position works in collaboration with the entire NECEC team, and under the direction of the Cleantech Open Northeast Director, manages a highly experienced network of volunteers across the region\u2019s community of top thought-leaders, investors, entrepreneurs, and business people in the cleantech industry throughout the Northeast region. This role allows the individual to contribute to the growth and success of cleantech startups across the region.<\/p>\n<p>Responsibilities<br \/>\nCleantech Open Northeast runs on an annual calendar cycle. This startup accelerator engages sponsors and leading cleantech companies and the innovation community, runs events and outreach to recruit applicants (over 100 in 2016), selects the most promising and ready startups for the annual cohort, matches startups to mentors and experts, provides leading entrepreneurial education and guidance on the startups\u2019 business plans and pitches, and organizes judges and the region\u2019s leading cleantech investors, partners, and executives for the annual competition and finals event.<\/p>\n<p>The Communications &amp; Community Outreach Manager reports to the Director of Cleantech Open Northeast. S\/he is instrumental to the day-to-day operations of the accelerator program.<\/p>\n<p>Key responsibilities include communications (with mentors, participants, and volunteers) and event organization. Responsibilities may include and may not be limited to:<br \/>\n\u25cf Strategic management and content development for all CTONE communications to<br \/>\nstakeholders including startup companies, industry experts, volunteers, partners, and<br \/>\nsponsors.<br \/>\n\u25cf Act as the primary community manager for our mentors and experts, Cleantech Open<br \/>\nNortheast accelerator entrepreneurs, and new volunteers including outreach, systems<br \/>\nsupport, and customer service.<br \/>\n\u25cf Manage CRM, systems, and tracking programs associated with program activities.<br \/>\n\u25cf Manage the quality control process for Cleantech Open Northeast accelerator including<br \/>\nsurveying teams and mentors regularly (25+ instances throughout the year).<br \/>\n\u25cf Support Cleantech Open Northeast Director in streamlining partner and sponsor<br \/>\nrelationship management activities.<br \/>\n\u25cf Lead Cleantech Open Northeast communications and media relations effort, including<br \/>\ndrafting and distributing press releases related to accelerator milestones and program<br \/>\nnews, managing media inquiries, updating the Cleantech Open Northeast website and<br \/>\nsocial media accounts.<br \/>\n\u25cf In coordination with NECEC Events Manager, assist in planning, logistics and execution<br \/>\nof Cleantech Open Northeast events.<br \/>\n\u25cf Oversee recruitment of entrepreneurs, mentors, and volunteers to Cleantech Open<br \/>\nNortheast program, including building out lead tracker and managing volunteers<br \/>\nassisting with outreach.<br \/>\n\u25cf Management of Cleantech Open Northeast Intern.<br \/>\n\u25cf Support Cleantech Open Northeast Director as requested.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Qualifications<\/strong><br \/>\nThe position requires a motivated, self-starter with strong project management and<br \/>\norganizational skills to manage internal and external communications activities and operations for of the Cleantech Open Northeast regional competition. Ideal candidates will have professional experience in communications, operations, and project management, an interest in clean energy and the innovation economy, and a demonstrated track record of strong performance. Relevant experience with cleantech venture and entrepreneurial initiatives a plus.<br \/>\n\u25cf Bachelor\u2019s degree, relevant graduate experience a plus<br \/>\n\u25cf Strong public speaking and presentation skills<br \/>\n\u25cf Ability to communicate and work with a variety of stakeholders including entrepreneurs,<br \/>\nsustainable-driven companies, mentors and volunteers, and innovation support<br \/>\norganizations<br \/>\n\u25cf Excellent verbal and written communicator and relationship builder with an attention to<br \/>\ndetail<br \/>\n\u25cf Superior and organized project manager with the ability to see through multiple events in<br \/>\ncoordination with a variety of partner organizations<br \/>\n\u25cf Customer-centric attitude with high level of professionalism<br \/>\n\u25cf Ability to recruit and manage a large pool of volunteers and interns<br \/>\n\u25cf High energy and incredibly hard worker with the ability to work independently or as part<br \/>\nof a team, and manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment<br \/>\n\u25cf Demonstrable enthusiasm and interest in entrepreneurship and clean technologies<br \/>\n\u25cf Experience in recruitment, sales, business development, or community outreach<br \/>\npreferred<br \/>\n\u25cf Proficiency in Google and Office programs (Google Docs, Sheets, Word, Excel,<br \/>\nPowerPoint, etc.) Experience with social media tools and content management systems,<br \/>\nincluding Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook<\/p>\n<p><strong>Salary and Compensation<\/strong><br \/>\nSalary commensurate with experience, and standard benefits package.
