The Challenge will be held Nov 9-11 at Saint Joseph&#8217;s College in Standish Maine.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><b>College <\/b><b>Challenge<\/b>:<i>How<\/i><i> might we create products, services, app&#8217;s or organizations that support the expansion of production, distribution, processing and consumption of local, sustainably produced food and seafood<\/i>. \u00a0We are seeking idea or very early stage ventures. Registration is now open at: \u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/na01.safelinks.protection.outlook.com\/?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.NEInnovationChallenge.org&amp;data=02%7C01%7Crarmstro%40bowdoin.edu%7Cbc5f1fdc183c462f65a908d61caa9e45%7C984e32e5f98a4600aa3227c3f948abe3%7C1%7C0%7C636727916486891133&amp;sdata=NIWvtKg8G6CSdAueldZIsMWfE0wmNFqj7TAtL6Ui9Sg%3D&amp;reserved=0\">www.NEInnovationChallenge.org<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Consider products or services that address one or more of the following:<\/p>\n<p>* Helping food producers become resilient in light of climate change.<br \/>\n* Applying big data to small-scale production.<br \/>\n* Utilizing the Internet of Things (IoT) to bring efficiency to small producers and harvesters.<br \/>\n* Providing equal access and ability to purchase healthy food to all.<br \/>\n* Reducing or repurposing food waste.<br \/>\n* Making the food supply chain transparent to all.<br \/>\n* Reducing or conserving inputs &#8211; like water &#8211; in the production of healthy, sustainably produced food.<br \/>\n* Using drones to improve the efficiency of small-diversified farms.<br \/>\n* Integrating aquaponics, hydroponics or land based aquaculture into the food system.<\/p>\n<p><b>The food system is vast and complex system and this is by no means a complete list.
