(February 2019 deadlines)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>The Environmental Fellowship program descriptions and applications for Summer 2019 are now on the ES website!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bowdoin.edu\/environmental-studies\/fellowships-and-opportunities\/index.html\">https:\/\/www.bowdoin.edu\/environmental-studies\/fellowships-and-opportunities\/index.html<\/a><\/p>\n<p>As a student who is either an ES major\/minor or who has taken ES core courses, you are eligible to apply for <strong>Environmental Studies summer fellowships<\/strong>. <strong>The Environmental Studies program provides 15 summer fellowships for students.\u00a0 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bowdoin.edu\/environmental-studies\/fellowships-and-opportunities\/recent-fellows\/index.html\">Read more about last summer\u2019s fellows.<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This is a great way to gain experience in the field, work with environmental professionals, and connect your summer experience to your academic experience.\u00a0 The Environmental Studies Program is one of very few academic programs that has an endowed fellowship program.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bowdoin.edu\/environmental-studies\/fellowships-and-opportunities\/maine-based-fellowships.html\">Environmental Studies-Maine Based Fellowships<\/a><\/strong> (12) fund students to work with local communities and nonprofits in Maine that are selected as host organizations by the Environmental Studies Program.\u00a0 We have now posted our placements for our Maine based fellowships. We have 12 opportunities for students to work with environmental organizations on everything from sustainable communities, energy policy, water quality monitoring, environmental health and more. \u00a0<strong>Deadline: Wednesday, Feb. 13th at noon<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bowdoin.edu\/environmental-studies\/fellowships-and-opportunities\/sustainability-fellowship.html\">Environmental Studies Fellowships (Sustainability and Environmental Justice)<\/a><\/strong> \u00a0(2-3) \u2013 funds students to work for an organization of their choosing.\u00a0 You can work in Maine, in your community, or anywhere in the world.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Deadline: Monday, February 25<sup>th<\/sup> at noon<\/strong>\u00a0 <strong>**Winter break is a good time to identify and contact organizations for this fellowship**<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bowdoin.edu\/environmental-studies\/fellowships-and-opportunities\/cooke-fellowship.html\">Cooke Fellowship<\/a><\/strong> (1-2) \u2013 Funds students to conduct community based research under the guidance of a faculty mentor and in partnership with a community organization of the student\u2019s choosing <strong>**Winter break is a good time to identify contact faculty sponsors and host organizations for this fellowship**<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Deadline: Monday, February 25<sup>th<\/sup> at noon <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Winter break is a great time to start to apply for summer fellowships.\u00a0 All applications are online and we have included a PDF of the fellowship application on our website to help you start to prepare your application.
