{"id":8,"date":"2005-12-09T15:26:35","date_gmt":"2005-12-09T20:26:35","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/studorgs.bowdoin.edu\/robocup\/wordpress\/?page_id=4"},"modified":"2015-12-16T08:53:29","modified_gmt":"2015-12-16T13:53:29","slug":"history","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/research.bowdoin.edu\/robocup\/history\/","title":{"rendered":"Team Info"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Northern Bites is <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bowdoin.edu\">Bowdoin College<\/a>\u2019s robot team.<\/p>\n<p>We compete in the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tzi.de\/spl\">Standard Platform League<\/a> of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.robocup.org\">RoboCup<\/a> (formerly the Four Legged League) where teams consisting of five <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Nao_(robot)\">Aldebaran Nao<\/a> robots each play on a field of 10.4 m x 7.4 m. The robots operate fully autonomously; there is no external control by humans or computers.<\/p>\n<p>We are the former <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tzi.de\/4legged\/bin\/view\/Website\/Results2007\">World Champions<\/a> on the <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Aibo\">Sony Aibo<\/a> platform, and in 2008 placed <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tzi.de\/4legged\/bin\/view\/Website\/AiboResults2008\">third<\/a> on the Aibos and in the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tzi.de\/4legged\/bin\/view\/Website\/NaoResults2008\">top eight<\/a> in the new Nao competition. In 2009 we placed <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tzi.de\/spl\/bin\/view\/Website\/Results2009\">second<\/a> in the renamed Standard Platform League. In 2010 we placed in the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tzi.de\/spl\/bin\/view\/Website\/Results2010\">top eight<\/a>, and did so again in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tzi.de\/spl\/bin\/view\/Website\/Results2013\">2013<\/a>. We reached the final 16 in every year from\u00a0we began competing internationally in 2006 until 2014.<\/p>\n<h3>History::<\/h3>\n<p>In 2005, we competed @ the US Open.<br \/>\nIn 2006, we finished 5th @ the US Open, finished 10th at RoboCup 2006.<br \/>\nIn 2007, we finished 3rd @ the German Open, and <strong>won RoboCup 2007<\/strong>.<br \/>\nIn 2008, we finished 1st @ the US Open, finished top 8 in the Nao league and finished third-place in the Aibo league at RoboCup 2007.<br \/>\nIn 2009, we finished 2nd @ RoboCup 2009.<br \/>\nIn 2010, we finished 2nd @ the US Open and finished in the top 8 @ RoboCup 2010.<br \/>\nIn 2011, we finished 3rd @ the US Open and in the top 8 @ RoboCup 2011.<br \/>\nIn 2012, we finished 3rd @ the US Open and in the top 16 @RoboCup 2012.<br \/>\nIn 2013, we finished 2nd @ the US Open and in the top 8 @RoboCup 2013.<br \/>\nIn 2014, we finished 3rd @ the US Open.<br \/>\nIn 2015, we finished 2d @ the US
