Ambrotypes are positive images formed on glass plates. They are produced in the field with a wet-plate collodion process. Each plate measures 8 x 10 inches. This is one chapter of the Androscoggin River project, which asks how as Americans we might embrace the middle ground between the pristine and the ruined typical of the places many call home.
