Together for ME is a project designed to foster early understanding of language diversity and tolerance among primary school children. In collaboration with Multilingual Mainers, the initiative translates and creates multilingual recordings of picture books. Led by multilingual students and faculty, this effort highlights language diversity, promotes language access, and builds a sense of belonging for multilingual students in the Brunswick community and beyond.
The oral recordings were created during the Fall 2025 semester by students in Dr. Puma Ninacuri’s course, “Intermediate Spanish I”. The following students worked to translate various children’s books: Jonah Adams, Alice Beringer, Nuer Bol, Anthony Duffy, Sawyer Eaton, Ellie Edmonson, Avery Kyle, Brodie Muyskens, Bay Nadeau, Oliver Neuenschwander, Gwen Purnell, Adriana Ramirez, Graham Reynolds, Rachel Rodrigues, Lily Sandhorst, Shivani Schmulen, Lorenzo Shields, Claire Smylie, Elio Spagnuolo, Xan Vella, Levi Ward, and Dinah Yorkin. Additionally, students received support from course assistants Sofia Bacolas, Sharifa Hunarwar and Santiago Pérez.
