Together for ME is a project designed to foster early understanding of language diversity and tolerance among primary school children. In collaboration with Multilingual Mainers, the initiative translates and creates multilingual recordings of picture books. Led by multilingual students and faculty, this effort highlights language diversity, promotes language access, and builds a sense of belonging for multilingual students in the Brunswick community and beyond.
The oral recordings were created during the Fall 2025 semester by students in Dr. Puma Ninacuri’s course, “Intermediate Spanish I”. The following students worked to translate various children’s books: Jada Amani, Sebastian Brown, Elan Cohen, Pi Crosby, Ellie Denney, Maleia Ferguson, Elliot Fontaine, Caitlin Heus-Smith, Luke Jones, Great Limberger, Michael Mahedy, Hayden Mallory, Kate Mautz, Saugat Mishra, Arlette Mutabazi, Annily Nguyen, Sebastian Ortiz Gonzalez, Michael Wood, Nora Wunsch, Chloe Xu, Maggie Xu. Additionally, students received support from course assistants Sofia Bacolas and Santiago Pérez. In addition, we received assistance from Teaching Fellows, Annaïg Péron (Francophone Studies) and Santiago Pérez (Hispanic Studies) for the preparation of additional translations and recordings.
