Friends of Chatham Waterways Scholarships
In the spring of each year, up to three $2,500 scholarships are awarded by Friends of Chatham Waterways, Chatham, MA, to selected students in graduate school or entering their junior or senior year of college, and who are majoring in Environmental Studies, Environmental Management or a related field. The scholarships are exclusively for residents of Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket, or students who have graduated from a secondary school or college there. The awards are made in the belief that providing grants at the college level and beyond will enable and encourage tomorrow’s leaders to commit themselves to careers in these fields. FCW defines issues of public concern affecting local waterways for pulic discussion and debate, prepares informational materials, sponsors public forums, works with town agencies to achieve common goals, and expresses FCW positions at public hearings and town meetings.
