Internship Opportunitity: Environmental Education Intern

Brief position summary: The Environmental Education Intern will assist in developing curricula using Project WET, Project WILD, and Project Learning Tree teaching supplements as guides. In addition, the intern will help enhance field trip curricula using Tennessee Common Core Standards. Minimum of 15 hours per week
Responsibilities:
· Work alongside camp counselors and Interpretive Docent team to develop a working education program
· Assist in implementing curricula for camp and field trips throughout internship
· Procure supplies and materials as needed to conduct lessons
· Create a fun and engaging environment for educational program participants
· Include Common Core Standards with each activity to prepare a well-rounded educational program for each specific age group
Part-time Summer Internship: Harpswell Community Garden
The Harpswell Community Garden, which is located at Mitchell Field, is a Town of Harpswell project and is supported by the Harpswell Heritage Land Trust and other groups.
They are seeking a college student or Harspwell resident to supervise two high school interns working with the “Gardening for the Common Good” project, growing food for the Mid-Coast Hunger Prevention Project. The stipend for this position is $12/hour for a maximum of 100 hours between May 1 and Oct. 15. Start and end dates are flexible.

EPA Laboratory Assistant – Full-time Job Opening for Recent Bachelor’s Grads
The Mid-Continent Ecology Division of the EPA in Duluth, M.N, is looking for a Laboratory Assistant! The Assistant will assist in all aspects of laboratory bioassays, toxicity testing, and chemical analyses needed to run a robust aquatic toxicology research program at the EPA. Job is expected to begin June 2016.
• Full time, $19.74/hour
• Must have a bachelor’s degree in biochemistry, chemistry, toxicology, or a related field with substantive biology and chemistry knowledge
• Must have demonstrated experience in using and preparing samples for GC/MS instrumentation, a working knowledge of sediment testing, basic skills in Microsoft Office, and strong written/oral communication skills
• Will perform tasks such as cleaning laboratory glassware, preparing common reagents, bioassays, and chemical/physical analyses, utilizing microscopy instrumentation, developing characterization methods, and other related tasks
