A major hub of climate change research in the University of Maine, the Climate Change Institute sends faculty and students throughout the world to study the variability of the Earth’s climate, and the complex links between climate, humans, and the natural world. Orono researchers study glaciers found in the Arctic and scrutinize the behavior of the Greenland ice sheet, while also collaborating with other institutions studying the Earth’s environmental history locked in ice. Not open to the public.
