Matt Awarded Freedman Fellowship: Investigating and Managing Data Collection and Standardized Protocol

Student Manager of the Emerging Technologies Lab, Matthew Donnelly was awarded a Freedman Fellowship for the summer of 2020 to investigate and manage data collection and standardized protocol, both within the ETL and between associated labs. The ETL has relationships with both the VEMI lab of and the budding INSITE lab of Colby College, which Dr. Stacy Doore is planning to initiate in the Fall of 2020. The framework that Matt investigated is called Experiments in Virtual Environments (EVE), and constitutes an upgrade to lab protocol that is crucial for elevating the quality, reproducibility, and scalability of research at the ETL. The goal is to incorporate the EVE framework into all ETL projects both past and future, so that our data collection methods are standardized and our data recorded safely.
