Bowdoin 0 Texas 5

I guess those ties weren’t so bad after all.

We had some great chances early – Texas robbed us of a goal off a 3/4 field back kick with a last second goalie dive. Then we had the ball in their box but couldn’t quite kick it in.

Here is the nice play in hi def.

Bites win! Bites win! Bites win!

The Northern Bites rolled into the top 16 with a 1-0 win over the Austrian Kangaroo.  The goal was possibly the best in the Bites’ long illustrious history.  With the ball at midfield near the sideline, Spock (#3) approached the ball facing completely away from the other team’s goal – however, he unleashed a thunderous back kick that rocketed into the corner of the opposing goal.  The crowd (or at least us) exploded with excitement!

Another 0-0 tie

I know soccer is low scoring, but this is getting silly. The highlight was our recovery from having the ball on our own goaline jammed up against the post. Almost impossible not to get the ball in, but we got it done.
