possible successor to the AIBO

read about it here

highlights:
640×480 resolution (our current camera has 208 x 160 resolution)
capable of 90 frames per second (our current camera maxes out at 30)

Some of us on the team are a bit skeptical of these claims; the processor is only 500 MHz, which seems incapable of processing video at such “high” resolution at such a fast speed. It is exciting to think of the possibilities

nBites v CMU 6 PM tomorrow

CMU (Carnegie Mellon University) beat out TJ Ark from China in their quarter final match. That means that it is two American teams vying for a spot in the finals, as we square off against CMU tomorrow night at 6 pm.

We’re moving to a brand new venue which means that we’ll have to recalibrate for the new fields and lighting conditions. Fortunately we’ve gotten quite a lot of practice in the past few days with adapting to new circumstances, so we should do fine with the transition.

As it stands, the other three teams in the semi finals are:
NUbots from the University of New Castle
CMU
Wright Eagle from China (who beat us the last time we played)

nBites 10 – Asura 0

We won our second game of the day with a shutout. Both teams played well but we were able to grab the ball more consistently and control the pace of play.

With this victory, we are entitled entrance into the quarterfinals. Go, Northern (un)Roll Bites!
